Job Title: Service Technician
Reports To: Owner
Job Purpose: Provide termite and pest control service in various
locations in Tennessee and Georgia to the satisfaction of the customer in accordance with company and
industry rules, regulations, and standards.
Physical Requirements: Must be capable of bending, stooping, crawling,
kneeling, and walking for extended periods. Must be able to lift and carry
weights up to fifty (50) pounds and should not have any fears of working in
tight or enclosed spaces.
Education/Training Requirements: A high school diploma or equivalency is
preferred and some college is a plus.
Experience and Knowledge: Experience working alone with indirect
supervision is preferred. Good verbal and written skills are a must. Must be
readily able to receive and carry out instructions. Must have a valid driver’s
license and clean driving record (as defined as no more than one speeding ticket
or other chargeable violation in the past three years). Employees must meet the
required training, successful completion of testing for licensing and
certification, and continuing education as required by the states we service
(currently TN and GA).
Special Requirements: Some overnight travel may be required as demanded by
the training requirements of TN and GA. May be asked to work after hours and/or
on Saturdays during busy spring/summer season.
Background Check and Drug Testing: Note we are a smoke-free work environment. Applicant must be a
non-smoker. Applicant must provide a copy of their MVR from the State
Department of Safety if called for an interview. All new employees are drug
screened at the time of hiring and on a random basis thereafter and always
tested if involved in an accident. Applicants will be subject to civil and
criminal background check and screening.
Typical Daily Duties:
Be able to inspect, diagnose a problem and render appropriate service, using approved materials and methods.
Be courteous and customer service-minded at all times.
Be able to effectively communicate with customers and sell services.
Call on potential customers and close the sale. Recognize and participate in all sales opportunities.
Conduct service time and travel efficiently and effectively.
Apply pesticides safely and effectively in accordance with all labels and state regulations.
Be able to operate pumps, power drills, and other hand tools.
Respond to unscheduled requests for service. Make phone calls to communicate with customers and the company to assure a smooth flow of service.
Provide prompt, quality service and minimize call-backs.
Maintain care and custody of company vehicle, equipment, materials, and records. Must maintain accurate reports on time expended, materials used, customer names and addresses, and other information where service rendered. Must complete all parts of the service ticket/invoice and ask for payment at the time of service.
Attend all scheduled training. Attain and maintain Tennessee and Georgia licenses and certifications.
Follow all company policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Handbook.
Other duties as assigned.

Pay and Benefits: Employees are paid on a commission based on completed,
collected work. Employees receive a draw each Friday and receive their
production commission the first Friday of the following month, based on sales
collections. Employees are also eligible for sales commission on all sales to
new customers. During the period of initial training, employees will be paid an
hourly rate, twice monthly salary until they are assigned a route. Credit Union
(employee pays), 401K (with employer contribution), paid vacation and holidays,
coffee & bottled water provided.
