Lee A. Tubbs, President and Founder

Biography

 

 

·        Lee began a full-time career in the pest control industry in 1978 working as a technician in the family pest control company, Atomic Pest Control, in Memphis, TN.

 

·        He received a bachelor’s degree in Pest Control Management from the University of Memphis’ University College in 1983 combining courses in biology and business management.  At the University of Memphis he assisted in the development and implementation of their in-house pest control program with emphasis on a comprehensive pigeon control program.  This was also the subject of his final thesis.

 

·        Lee was a Pest Control Inspector for the Tennessee Department of Agriculture, Division of Plant Industries, Pesticides Section for five years from 1984 to 1989.  His work included working to resolve consumer complaints against are pest control companies as well as the identification, monitoring, and control of a number of pest populations including gypsy moths in East Tennessee, sweet potato weevils in West Tennessee, fire ants in West and Middle Tennessee including Shiloh National Military Park and the Natchez Trace Parkway,  black bird rooset eradication using non-chemical methods in West Tennessee. In addition he issued phyto-sanitary certificates to ensure plants available for sale and crossing state borders were insect and disease free.
 

·        In 1990 he returned to the family pest control business, Atomic Pest Control, and assumed the role of Manager, where he built Atomic into one of the top independent pest control firms in the mid-south region.

 

·        In 1994 he left the family business to travel in Europe and other countries studying pest control methods and establishing contact with an international affiliate (EnviroGuard UK Ltd.)  to refine his business plan for his future pest control business in the North Georgia area.

 

·        He worked as a wholesale representative with Oldham Chemical Company, a pest control equipment and chemical supplier, traveling east Tennessee and north Georgia regions from 1994 to 1997.

 

·        In 1997 he founded EnviroGuard Inc. the parent company of Daisy Pest Control and EnviroGuard Pest Control.   EnviroGuard’s emphasis on low impact treatments, non-intrusive control strategies and customer satisfaction has been the catalyst for the company’s rapid growth and success.

 

·        Lee is a frequent speaker to college classes, particularly entrepreneurship and environment of business classes.  He also speaks to area civic clubs and professional organizations including the Riverview Garden Club

 

·        EnviroGuard, Inc./Daisy Pest Control has assisted in historic preservation and termite control of the Judd Mansion in Dalton, GA and the Ringgold (GA) Depot.
